Reimbursement of Medical and Dental Expenses
If you have to pay for medical treatment that would normally be paid for by the Service, you can reclaim the cost
Eligibility check:
Am I eligible?
All Regular Service personnel are eligible for this allowance
What’s it for?
All Regular Service personnel are entitled to free medical and dental treatment and prescriptions. If it is necessary for you to pay for any of these (e.g. emergency dental treatment when the Service dental facility is closed), you can use this benefit to claim back the cost.
What do I get?
You’ll receive a refund of the actual receipted admissible costs, which will be paid into your nominated bank account.
How do I claim?
If you have a Defence Gateway account you can claim this from your own personal device using the My Expenses app by following this link
You can also submit your claim via JPA iexpenses. More information can be found in the allowances and expenses user guide, which can be found at JPA user guides
If you don’t have access to JPA or a Defence Gateway account, then you need complete JPA Form F016 (which can be found at JPA forms) and submit it to your unit HR admin office
