Whether you're at home or based overseas, the Personal Accident Insurance provides worldwide protection so you can stay protected no matter where life takes you.
What do I get ?
The PAL Personal Accident Insurance costs £3.99 a month per unit of cover for Regulars and £5.59 for their family and £3.60 for Reservists and £5.03 for their family. If you’re a new recruit you get the first 3 months free.
For that you get:
Cover all day, every day, everywhere, both when you’re on and off duty, with no exclusions for terrorism, alcohol, drugs, chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear
Coverage for all sports/leisure activities and forms of transport
The benefits payable are unaffected by other compensations and tax-free (excluding inheritance tax)
Immediate cover – even if you’re about to be deployed
Private GP Consultation
Your policy can also be extended to include death by natural causes and certain critical illnesses for just an extra £2 per unit of cover for yourself and £3 for your family if you’re a Regular and £2.50 and £3.75 respectively if you’re a Reservist.

How do I take advantage of this?

Regulars
Read the Regulars policy document and once you are confident you understand the plan and have reviewed the terms and conditions:
Complete the JPA PAL Enrolment Form (MODNet access only) – don’t forget to read the declaration & give full disclosure
Hand or email it to your Admin Staff, or the PAL rep if at an onsite presentation. Your Admin staff will put your policy onto JPA for you
Confirm your cover by keeping a copy of the form (scanned, emailed or hard copy), duly authorised by the authorising officer
Check your Pay Statement to make sure the amount you are paying for PAL is what you expected it to be.
