
Aircrew Remuneration
A bespoke remuneration package for all eligible aircrew providing two new pay spines, supplements, retention payments, and professional recognition awards, subject to eligibility regulations in JSP 754, Part 2.
What is it?
Aircrew Remuneration comprises of 4 elements:
Aircrew remuneration is a bespoke through-career pay spine, providing up to 28 or 30 increment levels (IL) depending on spine, qualification and rank. There are two pay spines (paid up to and including OF3):
Pay Spine 1 - Up to 30 IL depending on service, rank and qualification.
Pay Spine 2 - Up to 28 IL depending on service, rank and qualification.
Aircrew remuneration also includes:
A Professional Supplement (Aircrew) (PS(A)) paid to eligible Aircrew up to and including OF6.
Aircrew Retention Payments (ARP) to increase retention through the mid-career period.
And:
Aircrew Professional Recognition Awards (APRA) to incentivise and recognise the acquisition of specialist skills.
Who’s it for?
The pay spines are paid to eligible Aircrew personnel up to and including OF3, subject to eligibility regulations in JSP 754, Part 2
Why is it being introduced?
The new forms of Aircrew Remuneration have been introduced to better reward, incentivise and retain aircrew within the Armed Forces.
How do I receive it?
Eligible aircrew are automatically paid from one of the two new pay spines, a professional aircrew supplement and, when eligible, a retention payment.
The Aircrew Professional Recognition Award (APRA) provides a lump sum payment subject to eligibility and can be claimed via single-Service forms, subject to eligibility regulations in JSP 754, Part 2.
