    What’s it for ?

This is a contribution towards the cost of either:

    • the administrative and vehicle depreciation costs when selling and buying a private vehicle. You must be able to demonstrate that two separate financial transactions have taken place; or

    • the charges incurred when you are required to cancel a vehicle lease agreement; or

    • the cost of shipping a private vehicle to and from your permanent overseas assignment location. Ordinarily, you must find a commercial shipping provider yourself and make all necessary arrangements.

    • the cost UK return journeys taken in pursuit of a UK MOT. This option is only for countries where you are legally prevented from registering a private vehicle.

If you are moving between assignments in the same LOA location you will not normally be eligible for Overseas Private Vehicle Provision (OPVP)

    What do I get ?

You can submit one claim per assignment order and will receive a maximum of £1066.

    How do I claim this?

You should submit your claim via  JPA iexpenses. More information can be found in the allowances and expenses user guide, which can be found at JPA user guides

If you don’t have access to JPA or a Defence Gateway account, then you need complete JPA Form F016 (which can be found at JPA forms) and submit it to your unit HR admin office

Details of the supporting documentation required can be found in the Annexes to JSP 752 ch9 section 4. This will  need to be verified by your unit expenses authoriser and you must retain the documentation for 24 months from the date of the submission of your claim.

Approved claims will be paid direct to your nominated bank account.
