    What’s it for?

    The HM Forces Railcard will save you 1/3 on many tickets. As with most things in life, there are some exceptions, so take a look at the ticket types you can and can't make savings on with your HM Forces Railcard.

    The railcard can only be used for leisure travel. Commuting between home and place of duty, work or education is not available.

    What do I get?

    The Railcard costs £21 and with it you can receive 1/3 off the following fares: Anytime, Anytime Day, Off-Peak, Off-Peak Day, Super Off-Peak, Super Off-Peak Day, Advance, Off Peak Travelcard, Anytime Day Travelcard, Oyster Off-Peak pay as you go single fares, Oyster Off-Peak Daily Price Cap fares, Caledonian Sleeper, Weekender, European First, European Standard and European Saver.

    The Railcard also lets you take up to four children, under 16 years, for less with 60% off normal child fares, subject to a £1 minimum fare, anywhere in the country.

    For journeys made before 10am Monday to Friday, a minimum fare of £12.00 applies, except in July or August, or on public holidays. This applies to all Anytime, Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak Single and Return tickets. There are no minimum fares for all Advance tickets.

    How do I get one?

    If you're in the Royal Navy or Army, please speak to your Unit HR admin staff. If you're in the RAF you should apply using the RAF HR Portal
