Share the responsibilities and duties of one full-time post with one of your colleagues in return for reduced pay, pension and leave
flexible working

What do I get?
Job share is a type of flexible service, under which you and another Regular Service Personnel voluntarily share the responsibilities and duties of one full-time post for between 3 months and 3 years. Each of you will reduce your work routine by 40%, working three days a week. There will be a proportionate decrease to your pay and leave. Under the arrangement both of you will work at the same time for one day a week to help ensure continuity.
Full-time military service comes with an unlimited liability for duty that means you can be called upon to serve whenever required. If you job share, the days you are not required to attend work are known as Non-Duty Days (NDDs) and, once agreed, come with legal protection. NDDs will be booked and administered through JPA like leave.
As well as two NDDs each week, your liability to be called for duty on weekends and/or stand-down periods between normal duty, shifts, exercises etc is also reduced by 40%, so you would not be liable for additional duty on 2 whole weekends out of 5.
Before you apply you must find a Job Share Partner. The onus is on you to find a suitable partner, working in consultation with your Career Management (CM) organisation. Both job share partners must be able to meet the requirements for the post stated on the Job Specification. More information can be found in JSP 750, Part 1, chapter 2, section 2
