Naval Families Federation
The Naval Families Federation provides independent advice and support for you and your family
Am I eligible?
The Naval Families Federation (NFF) provides advice and guidance to all members of the Naval family. Aware that family constructs are varied, they are there to help or signpost you to a relevant specialist charity or organisation
Their main interaction is with serving members of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines and their families, but they also support members of the Maritime Reserves and Royal Fleet Auxiliary.
What’s it for?
The NFF is an independent Charity that gathers feedback from families on their ‘lived experience' to highlight the issues that Service families face. Evidence is presented to the Chain of Command, Ministry of Defence, and other government departments in a bid to shape change. They also contribute to academic research and the implementation of the Armed Forces Covenant.
They advocate on behalf of Naval families to ensure they feel valued, their voices are heard and to enable them to thrive in their communities of choice. Their core business is to:
advocate on behalf of families whose circumstances sit out with existing policy.
ensure that families are considered when engaging with central government departments, local authorities, the MoD, NHS, civilian employers and the Chain of Command.
develop tailored resources to support families, based on their feedback, to ensure information is clear to understand and available as required.
provide information via a range of social media platforms, on the NFF website and via Homeport magazine.
signpost to a range of armed forces charities and organisations to provide specialist support.
