Seagoers Leave

Am I eligible?

Seagoers Leave is only available to Regulars and Full Time Reserve Service (Full Commitment) personnel

What do I get?

You will get one additional working day of leave for each 30 calendar days of service in a qualifying seagoing unit up to an annual maximum of 12 days.

A qualifying seagoing unit is defined as a seagoing vessel which has a standard operating pattern requiring it to operate regularly away from its Base Port. Seagoing vessels includes ships, submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) and Ships Taken Up from Trade (STUFT) when Service personnel are onboard.

When can’t I claim this?

If you are deployed on qualifying operations, then you will receive Post Operational Leave (POL) instead of Seagoer’s Leave

How do I apply/claim?

Providing the leave entitlement has been added on JPA by your Unit HR,  you can apply for it on JPA. The Request for absence (leave) self-service user guide, which can be found at JPA user guides, tells you how to do this.

If you don’t have access to JPA, then you need to complete JPA Form ROO1 (which can be found at JPA forms) and submit it to your line manager.  When completing the form, please be aware that Seagoers leave is part of your Individual Leave Allowance.
