What do I get?
Transfer of Leave enables you to transfer up to 10 days’ leave, from your annual leave allowance, to your spouse, civil partner, long-term partner or a Service person you have shared parental responsibility with (to assist with the care of your child) if they are also a Service person. This limit is extended to 15 days if you are assigned to an Operational Tour of six months or longer and if you have accrued, or expect to accrue, an aggregated total of at least 180 days separated service during a leave year.
You must still be able to take a minimum of 28 days leave, including public holidays, in your current leave year as mandated under the Working Time Regulations.
How do I apply?
Submit your application for Transfer of Leave to your line manager, for approval, on:
JPA Form R001- If you don’t have access to JPA or the App, complete and send this form (which can be found at JPA forms on defnet) to your line manager.
If approved, the application will be sent to your spouse’s/civil partner’s/long-term partner’s/co-parent’s line manager for their consideration.
