Business Unit Commendations

The Business Unit Commendation recognises military and civilian staff, individually or collectively, for your valued contribution and delivery of your business areas outputs.

Who is it for?

All civilian employees in broader banded grades, retained grades, skill zones and analogue grades and military personnel.

What do I get?

Business Unit Commendations are a non-financial reward to ensure that exceptional effort undertaken either individually, or collectively, is recognised by top-level management and made publicly known to colleagues.

If you have shown exceptional behaviour in areas such as leadership, diversity and inclusion, business innovation and exceptional contribution to Defence, you could be nominated for, and receive a Business Unit Commendation. This is typically done by means of a presentation and certificate.
