Support to Operations (S2O)

Deploying MOD Civil Servants overseas to provide critical support to operations.

Who is it for?

Security cleared British nationals on a permanent contract looking to support one of the department’s top priorities. Deploying as an MOD Civil Servant on military operations is a unique professional and personal journey. You’ll work in demanding environments, shoulder real responsibility, and become part of a deployed military community. This is a significant life moment that will stretch and develop you.

What do I get?

An operational tour is both a challenge and a privilege. It will test your adaptability, resilience, and professionalism. But it will also reward you with unmatched experience, personal growth, and the knowledge that you made a real contribution to defence operations.

These unique opportunities provide you with:

  • The ability to refine the skills you already possess and gain new ones.

  • Develop your leadership skills.

  • Work at the fore front of Defence Operations overseas.

  • Build your confidence, working alongside military colleagues in unique environments.

  • Attractive operational allowance packages (dependent on location).

  • Receive specialist training to prepare you for the environment.
