What do I get?
MOD’s annual leave offering for staff is higher than the legal statutory minimum with new entrants to the Civil Service entitled to 25 days annual leave on joining which is increased by a day for each year completed up to a maximum of 30 days after completion of 5 years in addition to 8 bank holidays and 1 privilege day which is given to celebrate the Sovereign’s Birthday. Depending on your local arrangements this may be taken either the Friday before or Tuesday after the Spring May bank holiday.
Existing staff on pre-2014 Terms and Conditions of Service (TACOS) agreements are entitled to 31.5 days plus 8 bank holidays*(pro-rata for part time staff).
You are also able to carry over up to 10 days leave (pro-rata for part time staff) from the previous leave year into the following ensuring you do not lose any untaken leave and to allow for greater flexibility.
