Mid Monthly Advance

If you are facing hardship as a new entrant to the department, you can request an advancement of salary to help financially.

Mid Monthly Advance

Who is it for?

You can claim a mid-monthly advance if you are a new entrant within the first six months of employment.

What is it for?

As a new entrant to the MOD, you may find that it is difficult to adjust to having your salary paid monthly, and may be suffering hardship. You may wish, therefore, to consider applying for a mid-monthly advance of salary.

What do I get?

You can receive up to half of your salary as an advance, which will be paid at the mid-point of each month. The full recovery of the advance will be made from the salary due for payment at the end of that month.

What happens next?

Once your form has been received, the pay system will automatically calculate the advance(s) due based upon your entitlement, and pay the advance at the mid-point of each month.

The full recovery of the advance will be made from the salary due for payment at the end of that month.
